Mary Gilmore"; also inscribed in ink by the author, poem "Killed in the Street" 9.6.[?]; press clipping from The Australian Women's Weekly, June 23, 1934 pasted inside back cover .

Library's Whelan 354 copy is standard edition with original dustjacker; signed and inscribed in ink by the author, "For Philip Whelan The hammer of the years Beats on the stone/ where stands the hear of man alon, alone./Yet in the saddest depth, in hours most rank/ under the hammer blows Leaps forth a spark./ ...
