Extract from a letter dated 30 May 1942 from F. F. Espie to Mrs Espie. The letter describes the evacuation of troops and civilians from Namtu, Burma during World War II, in anticipation of imminent Japanese invasion. Espie describes in detail the 25 day journey from Namtu to Calcutta.
