Correspondence, including letters from Sir Robert Menzies, David Fairbairn and Sir William Hudson; newspaper cuttings, memoranda, copies of articles and talks relating to his work on the Country Roads Board and a photograph.

Biography/History

Former Director-General of the Commonwealth Department of Works (1945-1961) and chairman of the Northern Mining Corporation N.L. from 1969. From 1928-1940 he was chief engineer of the Country Roads Board and in 1940 became chairman. He was one of Australia's top civil engineers.
