The broadside has two series of excerpts formatted in the form of two pages. The left hand side is undated and contains eleven quotes, each divided by a red line. The first begins: "Remarkable occurrences South Seas". The right hand page is an extract describing the Southern Alps, N.Z. : " ... from Cape West 6 [degrees] 52 [minutes] East ... vallies between them."
