Collection includes: I. Typescript and manuscript poems of Picot. II. "The early years of James Picot" written by his sister, Aimee L. Picot, together with a letter from Aimee to Vincent Greenhalgh, 1945. III. Typescript extract from a radio broadcast, "Current books worth reading" by Vance Palmer, 1954, relating to Picot. IV. "Meanjin Papers", issue no. 1, Christmas 1940 containing poems by Picot.
- Biography/History:

Poet. Born Baldoch, Hertfordshire, England, and came to Australia in 1923. Died as a prisoner of war on the Burma railway. A collection of his poems, "With a hawk's quill" was published posthumously in 1954. A selection of letters, personal recollections and critical appreciations of Picot was published by "Meanjin" in 1954.
