Sixty-two journals kept by surgeons on ships in the China, Australian and Pacific Stations, including 26 kept by surgeons on convict ships sailing to Australia in 1836 and between 1850 and 1856. The journals contain details of illnesses, lists of patients as well as movements of the ship and brief descriptions of places visited.
