Journal, March-June 1853, of a voyage from London to Melbourne on the immigrant ship Ida describing day to day events on the ship and weather conditions.
- Biography/History:

Pioneer of the Australian cheese industry. In 1853 Harding accepted a contract with Thomas Mort to establish a cheese factory at Bodalla on the south coast of New South Wales. He was a Wesleyan lay preacher and acted as assistant surgeon in the emigrant vessel Ida. He travelled to England in 1856 but returned to Australia and acquired a large property in Victoria. Harding is remembered as a pioneer of cheddar cheese manufacture using scientific and hygienic principles.
