Bruce Evans, born 1925, Cleve, S. Aust. Bruce speaks about his family background and his decision to join the South Australia Police. He was posted to Darwin in 1945, to Alice Springs in 1946, and back to South Australia in 1947. In 1955, he was appointed as Protector of Aborigines at Oodnadatta, S. Aust. He outlines his duties. Bruce and Pat discuss the United Aborigines Mission Home in Oodnadatta and the removal of the children to Colebrook Home in 1958. Bruce was transferred to Edinburgh in 1960, returning to Oodnadatta in 1963. Bruce and Pat describe life in Oodnadatta, including race relations. Bruce left the police force in 1966.
