Letter, 1954 May 5, Balmain, from Bob Crossland to Walter Stone referring to a manuscript of a book which Crossland sent to Stone for publication and urging Stone to publish the diaries of G.T.W.B. Boyes (2 p.). 2. Letter, 1954 Dec. 20, Melbourne, from Oxford University Press to Stone referring to Crossland's book "Wainewright in Tasmania", together with a flier on their forthcoming Melbourne Branch publication of that book (2 leaves).

Stone was a book collector, especially of Australian materials, a publisher and founder of a private press Talkarra Press and later the Wentworth Press. In 1975 the National Book Council gave him the Bookman of the Year Award.
