Mr Tong talks of his family background; his education at Top Naas; taking sheep into the Booth Range; and Billys Hill areas for Ted Oldfield; taking stock to the Triangle beyond Cooleman Plain; storms in the Cotter Valley; Jack Maxwell's dampers at Cotter House Maxwell as a bushman; his recollections of Dick Brayshaw; stories of snow lease trips; going to the Bog to put out salt for sheep mustering; assisting the police investigation into missing sheep from the Cotter area; taking government valuers to Sam Aboud's property at Long Flat and Max Oldfield's in Booth Range country prior to resumption; Sam Aboud; Tharwa-Gudgenby mail run; telephone communication; trips to Yaouk; climate; Andy Cunningham running his plane engine during the night to frighten the dingoes; Aboriginal sites; shooting wildlife; rock wallabies; changes to the Naas and Gudgenby Rivers and vegetation; stories of heavy snow falls.
