Ken Whisson, an Australian painter, discusses his family; early association with Pauline and Jack McCarthy, Joy Hester and Albert Tucker and Danila Vassilieff; Koornong School; communism; literary and artistic influences; first trip to Europe, especially Italy; political art; return to Europe and involvment in political organisations; painting in Morocco; trip back to Australia in 1970 overland through the Middle East and South East Asia; particular paintings including those held by public galleries; work as a resident artist in Ballarat; exhibition at the Adelaide Festival; and his flat and life in Perugia, Italy.
