Summary

Anne Hale, a relative of Bishop Mathew Blagden Hale, married Lieut. Thomas Sherwood in 1859. Sherwood retired from the Army in 1863 and he and his wife migrated to Australia in 1864 or 1865. They purchased a station at Unumgar in the Richmond River district of New South Wales and lived there for about ten years. The entries in diary are brief, but give a picture of life on a prosperous station.
