Summary

The papers mainly relate to his work as Deputy Commissioner for the Western Pacific and Samoa in 1885-87 and include letters and reports on the administration and political divisions in Samoa, manuscripts and cuttings on Samoa, the Pacific labour trade and the annexation of New Guinea, and photographs of Samoa.

Wilfred Powell was a traveller, author and British consular officia.
