Summary

Mr Jeffery speaks of wool carrying; the store in Tharwa; fencing the Nursery Swamp; controlling rabbits; building the Mt Franklin Road; building the concrete piers of the Tharwa and Burbong bridges; the sandwash; Naas and Molonglo River bridges; use of horse and dray in road maintenance; building his house in Tharwa; introduction of graders; floods; Jack Rusden; huts; building roads to Bobiong and Corin Dam; P&C meetings; dances; bands; police; extension of the hall; Progress Association; cricket and tennis clubs; the Sheedys; contracts for school transport; school teachers; the school bell and grounds; 1939 bushfire; introduction of electricity; clearing snow from roads.

Mr Jeffery was a resident of Tharwa in the 1920s-1950s.
