- Summary:
-
"First World War poster promoting the sale of War Loan bonds. It features a depiction of a lady robed in a Grecian style dress, arms outstretched to the viewer. She is standing on a globe of the world, with a legacy torch at her feet. It is a striking art nouveau design, using a cobalt blue background to contrast against the white robes of the lady and the red and white text. Classic 'whiplash' lines are used as a decorative foil to link the text to the image. The title occupies the top part of the poster, and the text the right portion. A yellow border encloses the image" --Source of summary: Australian War Memorial website, accessed 26 May 2015.
