Jolliffe recalls his war service as a camouflage officer with the RAAF roaming Arnhem Land and the West Australian coast where he met Bill Harney, Outback storyteller and through him learned about Aboriginals; in the 1940s and 1950s a number of trips to the Outback with Bill Harney & once with a National Geographic expedition illustrating traditional Aboriginal lifestyles & customs; in 1944 his brief job on Smith's Weekly in Sydney where he met some of Australia's well known black & white illustrators; about one of his bush cartoons published in Permanent Buidling Association monthly magazine, Corroboree being the subject of a Anti-Discrimination Board case; publishing his own annual calendar and comic book.
