Summary

A small two column broadside with the text of two ballads, headed by woodcuts. The first column is devoted to The lively flea (first line: Oh, a dainty old chap is the lively flea; a parody of Charles Dickens, The ivy green, from Pickwick Papers). The woodcut shows a man standing next to a piano singing. The second column is devoted to Australia, our home, a song in four verses (first line: Here's off, here's off to the diggings of gold). The woodcut shows a man holding a bag labelled 5,000. The ballads are Roud number V3035 and V20380. The number 145 appears at the base of the first column as if this sheet may be part of a series issued by the unidentified printer.
