- V.1 and 2 are bound in quarter Alum goatskin leather with oak boards. V. 1 is accompanied by a general introduction to the set, containing bibliographical information. There are 382 folios of the ms. in two v.
- The facsim., is full-colour, made by continuous-tone offset lithography from the disbound original. The translation is from the Victoria histories of the counties of England, updated and brought into line with recent scholarship.
- The two coins set into the inside cover of v. 1 are a silver penny of William the Conqueror, 1086, and a 1986 bronze penny of Elizabeth II.
- Ed. limited to 250 copies, signed by Baron Hailsham of Saint Marylebone, Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain, and G.H. Martin, Keeper of Public Records.
- This facsim. was published to coincide with the 900th anniversary of the Domesday book in 1986.
- No. 206 of an ed. of 250 copies. A bicentennial gift from the Bruce and Joy Reid Foundation (formerly the Minnamurra Foundation).
