Wanganeen speaks about the removal of herself and five of her siblings from their father and grandmother after their mother's death. Initially she was fostered out with her sister, but later she was sent alone to another foster home. After about 12 months, she was sent to Wiltja Girls Hostel, Millswood, S.A. where she was reunited with some of her family. Wanganeen talks about the long-term effects that separation and abuse in childhood have had on her life; working as a research officer with the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody; and her work at the Sacred Site within Healing Centre where she provides counselling to victims of abuse.
