- SR copy inscribed by author to Princess May, Duchess of Cornwall and York (i.e. Queen Mary, consort of George V) on her visit to Australia and dated 11 May 1901. Red binding bears royal coat of arms on front in gold and on spine there are small images in gold representing Australia (sheaf of wheat, spade and pick, lyre bird and kangaroo). There is also a royal bookplate, probably of the then princess.
