MS 7071 comprises correspondence, journals, notebooks, drafts of poems, material on the Preston Institute of Technology Literature Workshop and miscellaneous papers. The correspondence is with family, friends, writers, academics, artists and publishers. Correspondents include Don Baker, Manning Clark, Hilary Cohen, Bruce Dawe, Barry Dowling, George Dreyfus, Geoffrey Dutton, Oliver Gasperini, R.T. Hammerly, Gwen Harwood, Gordon Hawkins, Jack Hibberd, A.D. Hope, Ken Inglis, Kate Kellaway, Mike Kellaway, Will Kellaway, Greg Kratzmann, Maria Lewitt, Mal Morgan, Stephen Murray-Smith, Rosemary Nissen, John Cowper Powys, Barrett Reid, Tony Riddell, Russel Ward, Judy Wharington and Judith Wright (22 boxes).
The Acc09.108 instalment comprises correspondence, travel diary, poetry workbook, photographs, artworks, poems, posters and personal papers. - Biography/History:

Author, academic and artist. Frank Gerard Kellaway was born in London of Australian parents in 1922, and grew up in Australia. Kellaway graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree in 1948. He worked as a librarian at Wangaratta Municipal Library in the 1950s, and in the University of Melbourne and the Heidelberg Regional Library in the 1960s. He held a lectureship in humanities at the Preston Institute of Technology, Melbourne, 1972-1984. Kellaway has written poetry, novels, short stories and children's books. His publications include A straight furrow (1960), The quest for Golden Dan (1962), A whaler (1967), Beanstalk: poems (1973), and, Mare's nest: poems (1978). His poetry has also been published in Meanjin, Overland, Janus, Southerly, The Age and The Bulletin. Kellaway has also produced three opera libretti for the Australian composer George Dreyfus.
