Hand written and typed drafts and notes of published and unpublished novels, short stories and television plays and documentary scripts by George Johnston and Charmian Clift. There are also drafts of essays, talks and journals articles by both writers.
- Biography/History:

Novelist and journalist. During World War II he was one of Australia's leading war correspondents. In 1947 he married Charmain Clift and together they wrote many successful novels, short stories and television scripts. The couple spent 10 years on the Greek island of Hydra before returning to Australia in 1964. His best known novels are My brother Jack (1964) and Clean straw for nothing (1969).
