Berndt for Vesteys 1946 outlined; bad accommodation on stations, police control, employment, particularly young children, evasion of wages, bad medical attention, poor food, women exploited, low birth-rate attributed to vitamin deficiency and psychological malaise, misrepresentation of accounts by stations, social relations and decline in tribal practices, no formal education available for children; suggestion for monetary rewards rejected; notes on improved living conditions instituted by armed forces and noticeable appreciation; new government 1951 and conference on Aboriginal policy on assimilation; Court case, 1965; Unions case and employers case; connection between written evidence and labour ability; tables (middle pages) - explanation; verbal evidence, evidence not presented, dietary imbalance and work, diet and health, diseases; present system, with pension moneys collected by management of station, prejudice existing.
