The papers consist of personal correspondence; correspondence with politicians, Army officers, government consultative bodies and the Institute of Radio and Electronic Engineers. There are appeal and promotion papers relating to Sir Samuel Jones' years as an engineer in the P.M.G., correspondence, reports and memos of the Ministry of Munitions material on the Secondary Industries Commission and on the Sydney to Melbourne coaxial cable system, speeches, "Stisec Report" 1974, and the 1969 AANZAS Congress

Sir Samuel Jones has been Managing Director of Standard Telephones and Cables Pty. Ltd since 1961. His career in radio and telecommunications started with the P.M.G. in 1927.
