The presentation by the anonymous narrator begins with the myth and legend built around Sir Robert Menzies by his Party members; how later Prime Ministers such as Gough Whitlam tried to emulate him; the reasons for Menzies' popularity; how he got the nickname "Pig-Iron Bob" in 1939; his climb from country boy to the position of Prime Minister; his quotes from various newspaper reports; his forced resignation in 1941 and his later reinstatement in 1949; the 1961 campaign speech held at Brisbane Town Hall; the death of Sir Robert Menzies; Menzies and the Vietnam War; his racist attitudes and fascist leanings; quotes from some of his speeches.
