Summary

Journal kept from March 8, 1849 until November 3rd 1850. For much of this period Inskip served on H.M.S. Bramble, the tender to the Rattlesnake.

Biography/History

G. H. Inskip served on the H.M.S. Rattlesnake. The Frigate under the command of Owen Stanley conducted a survey cruise 1846-1850, inside the Barrier Reef, among adjacent islands, Gulf of Papua, Louisiade Archipelago and across the Coral Sea.
