- National Library of Australia's NK5009 copy is a presentation copy to Thomas Pennant, inscribed "A gift of the author"; volume 1 has a copy of a 4 page manuscript letter (relocated to MS 4214) to Thomas Pennant, signed by George Forster, and dated Cassel, 16 Feby 84: "... The occassion of my writing these lines is that I am going to quit Cassel, and remove to Wilna in Lithuania ...", added in; volume 2 has the prospectus for 'Observations during a voyage round the world' by John Reinold Forster bound in - "... calculated to serve as a Companion to Captain Cook's, or to George Forster's Account of the Voyage ..."; manuscript page cross references in pencil and ink in both volumes; clipping re 'The Character of Richard, Earl of Scarborough, August 29, 1759' extracted from the 'Miscellaneous works' of the Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield (1694-1773) published by E. and C. Dilly is loosely inserted within volume 1.

The 15 v. texts and atlas with spine title: Cook's voyages. Each v. has a second spine title for the title of the work.
