Summary

Carbon typescript manuscripts of novels, some with manuscript alterations. Items include: 1. untitled manuscript, published as "Now that we're laughing". Also published in U.S.A. as "Sun on the hills", (252 p.). 2-3. "Tomorrow's yesterday" - two drafts, with slight differences, published as "Daddy", (221 p., 315 p.). 4-5. "The walls whisper" - two drafts, (245 p., 309 p.). 6-7. "Tansy" by 'Darling Downs' - two drafts, with slight differences. Published as "Morning in Queensland" (1958). 8. "Kitty Sylvester" - unpublished (311 p.). 9. "The Earth and the evening star" -unpublished, (303 p.).

Biography/History

Born in Dalby, Queensland: won sesquicentenary short story prize in 1938 and was awarded a Commonwealth Literary Fellowship in 1953. Her published works include: "Now that we're laughing" (1945), "Sun on the hills" (1946), "What else is there" (1946), "Daddy" (1946) and "Morning in Queensland" (1958).
