Headed with a striking woodcut of a shipwrecked vessel, this 12-verse ballad tells the story of the Liverpool and Australian Steam Navigation Company steam clipper wrecked off Anglesey en route from Melbourne to Liverpool, on 26th October 1859. One of the greatest of the 19th Century shipping disasters with 459 drowned. Ironically, many of the passengers had despatched letters at Queensttown, Ireland, announcing their safe arrival.
