"The devil on wheels" by Gordon Irving was published by Dinwiddle and Co. Ltd., Dumfries, Scotland in 1946. It tells the story of the inventor of the first bicycle, Kirkpatrick Macmillan. The book is annotated by Macmillan's grandson Rev. Arthur M. Sanders, who gave it to his grandson Glenn Macmillan Sanders in 1947. Glenn Sanders has added a note which gives details of his grandfather's career as a missionary in Tonga from 1914-1927.
