John Alexander was removed from his family as a baby and was in and out of the receiving home sixteen times by the age of four, before he was eventually placed with a white Methodist foster family who raised him. It was not until his daughter started to do the family genealogy in 1995 that he discovered, at the age of 50, that his mother was Indigenous. He describes a family reunion with his siblings in Karratha, W.A., and expresses his views on the policy of removal.
