Biography/History

Ballet dancer, administrator and actor. Geoffrey Ingram danced with the Borovansky Company and later with the Melbourne Ballet Guild. He worked on the Australian Arts Enquiry in 1959, and became the founding administrator of the Australian Ballet, 1963-1965. He was involved in promoting the arts generally and his interests in the creative arts included painting and drawing. In the late 1960s he made excursions into film production and also owned a restaurant. In 1969, he undertook the first challenge to the legality of an arms agreement when, in the High Court of Australia, he challenged the S.A.L.T. II treaty between the Soviet Union and United States. Subsequently he was engaged in comparative studies on the arts of war and peace. In 1988, Ingram was visiting fellow in the Performing Arts at ADFA, where he researched the history and philosophy of dance.

Lisbeth Montgomery was a dancer for the Ballet Rombert, 1936-1949, and secretary to the Borovanskys.
