Morton speaks about her childhood in Adelaide and about her decision to do missionary work. She first went to the Christian Brethren Mission at Umeewarra near Port Augusta in 1947. She speaks about the children and staff at the Mission, and describes the routines and living conditions. After six months at Umeewarra, Morton returned to Adelaide to continue training and working as a nurse. She returned to Umeewarra in 1951 and remained there until 1994. She outlines how children were placed at the Mission, and describes the troubled relationship between the Mission and the Welfare Department. Morton now lives in a Christian Brethren retirement home in New South Wales.
