Graham Martin, born in Cooabarabran, N.S.W. recalls his family background and their musical talents; his school years; joining the town band at 13-14 years, the instruments used and tunes played; playing for the Queen's visit (1954?) at Dubbo, N.S.W.; the town band being combined with primary school bands; learning to play the mouth organ and saxaphone; tranposing music on sight; the bands he played with (e.g. Meteors) and the types of dance tunes played; being aged in his early 20's when he was approached by Frank Bourke to play in the White Rose Orchestra; dance programs and experiences whilst on tour with the White Rose Orchestra; what effect the introduction of rock'n roll has had on the survival of dance bands; playing in clubs and other venues'; the end of the White Rose Orchestra with the death of Frank Bourke.
