Letter of James Cook to the Commissioners of Victualling suggesting that HMS Resolution and Adventure take in at Portsmouth the whole of the spirits and wine that was ordered.

Biography/History

Explorer and navigator. Cook sailed from Plymouth on the "Endeavour" on 25 August 1768 on the expedition to observe the transit of Venus at Tahiti.
