- 26 pages [1] leaf of plate : plan ; 24 cm.
- Summary:
-
A rare, early Northern Territory item. The proposed settlement was intended to alleviate the European population of Mauritius following the fever epidemic of 1867 and the continued unhealthiness of the colony. Ferguson suggests that South Australia's first Government Resident in the Northern Territory, Boyle Travers Finniss had corresponded with relatives in Port Louis and this probably explains the connection with Mauritius.
