Summary

1. A.L.S. dated 34 Cornhill 15 April 1846, addressed to "Lt. Earle R. N." from Lieut. Waghorn. It conveys notice of a public meeting at the London Tavern on the subject of steam navigation to Australia.

Biography/History

Lieut. Waghorn, R. N. pioneer of the overland route from Cairo to India, founded the shipping business in London, 1837 under the name of the "Globe Express".
