MS 2064 comprises correspondence, files, minutes and memorandum for the following bodies: Australian National University Council, ANU Students Representative Council, ANU Union Board of Management, National Union of Australian University Students and the Canberra Council for Overseas Students. There are also several general files on student activities and overseas students (3 boxes).
The Acc10.217 instalment comprises papers pertaining to libraries and library education, politics, cultural/art events and Yocklunn's work all relating to Papua New Guinea. The instalment includes: planning documentation for the construction of the National Library of Papua New Guinea, publications and files pertaining to the opening, operation and proposed closure of the National Library of Papua New Guinea; reports and papers on library education in Papua New Guinea; incomplete set of Pacific Information Library Service Network newsletters; conference and seminar proceedings reports, articles and lecture notes on libraries generally and libraries in the Pacific;
invitations and programs for dinners and cultural events along with art exhibition catalogues; program of events for Papua New Guinea Independence Day and itineraries and related ephemera pertaining to the Queen's Silver Jubilee visit in 1977; official recommendations and planning papers pertaining to annual awards and honours programs; campaign ephemera including party platform documents, newspaper clippings and submissions for the 1972 Papua New Guinea election with particular emphasis on Pangu Pati. There is also one photograph and a small packet of negatives (4 boxes).
The Acc13.086 instalment comprises a memoir by Sir John Yocklunn: 'One of us: an insider in Papua New Guinea, 1967-1983'; and a publication compiled by Sir John and Lady Yocklunn as an adjunct to an informational display on government at the Public Library in Port Moresby: Our government: a dictionary of terms in simple English (1980) (1 packet).

Librarian and university student representative. Soong Chung (John) Yocklunn, a former employee of the National Library, was a part-time student at the Australian National University and an active participant in student affairs. He was elected as a member of the Students' Representative Council, and was a student representative on the ANU Council and ANU Union Board of Management and a member of the National Union of Australian University Students.
