- Summary:
-
The Hattah/Kulkyne National Park lies in the far north west of Victoria about 80 kilometres south of Mildura. It is a vast area of lakes and quiet water holes, giant river gums, Mallee scrub and masses of wildflowers, with an abundance of birdlife and animals. It is from this land of striking contasts that author Mary Chandler has drawn a selection of photographs taken by her father, the late Les Chandler. This book beautifully portrays the intircacies of the bushland, the diversity of flora and fauna, and shows why Les Chandler believed so passionately that this place should be saved from exploitation and preserved for our children and for their children as "an oasis of peace."
