The collection includes six photographs copied from the original prints: 1. Henry Francis Maddrell and Louisa Jamieson -- 2. Robert J.C. Maddrell with wife Kate Knapp and family of 11 -- 3. Robert and Kate Maddrell and family of 13 -- 4. Robert John Maddrell / [photographed by] Freeman & Co. -- 5. Elizabeth Coghill Maddrell / [photograped by] Freeman & Co. -- 6. 'Mona', Braidwood. Also a binder entitled "114 Additions Mona Braidwood, H.F. Maddrell Esq" which contains the specifications, dated 1902, for the additional rooms and entrance to 'Mona' with various drawings, plans, and elevations, and also details of sections of cornices and arches etc. The binder cover is card from an Alliance Assurance Co. calendar for 1901. The collection also includes approximately 45 architectural drawing of the plan of additions to Mona, Homestead N.S.W.
- Biography/History:

In 1848 Robert Maddrell, married Elizabeth Coghill, daughter of Capt. Coghill. They lived in a cottage at Mona before inheriting 'Bedervale' from John Coghill. Their eldest son Robert John Coghill Madrell married Kate Knapp in 1873, and built the original wooden house 'Mona', where they had 14 children. In 1900, on Robert Maddrell's death, Robert J.C. Madrell and family moved to 'Bedervale', and his brother Henry Francis Maddrell with wife Louisa Jamieson moved to 'Mona' making the alterations to the house featured in the plans. 'Mona' was inherited by H.F. Maddrell's son Henry Onyx, and on his death, in 1932, it was sold.
