Biography/History

Terry Callen was a maritime historian, particularly interested in the Newcastle and Hunter area and a founder member of the Newcaastle Maritime Museum. He was a photographer for the Daily Guardian and Smith's weekly. In 1938 he joined the Royal Australian Air Force doing war service attached to the Royal Australian Navy as a photographer and later worked in the Department of Defence.
