Biography/History

Frank Leyden: born in Western Australia, 1913; educated (B.Sc.) at University of Western Australia; practised as a sound engineer for Amalgamated Wireless (AWA); worked on sound system of Sydney Opera House; moved permanently to England in 1969; died in London, 1999. Between 1940 and 1969 he was an enthusiastic bushwalker and photographer, visiting many areas in Australia.

Title from accession record, see file 203/12/81.

Inscriptions: "Frank Leyden, SWB & Archive material edited & collated in 1989 Reg Alder SWB NPA KAH"--Stamped on reverse of many photographs. There are also handwritten inscriptions and numbering on the back of some photographs.

Condition: Good; majority of photographs are curled at edges.
