Biography/History

Councillor Max Boyd has served for 39 years in local government in the Tweed Shire Council, New South Wales. Boyd had been elected as President/Mayor of the Shire on 18 occasions. He is a life long resident of the Tweed Shire, living on the family property at Dulguigan which has been in the Boyd name for 72 years. His great grandfather, Thomas Boyd was one of the earliest settlers in the Tweed Valley at Chinderah, building the first hotel in the valley and establishing a butcher shop to supply the needs of the pioneers.
