Maria Piagno (nee Nardello) describes coming to Walkamin and Mutchilba; meeting her husband Felix Piagno; being married and expecting her first child when he was taken away to a labour camp during World War II.
Maria Piagno (Nee Masillo) describes meeting husband Gino Piagno in Italy in 1957; her father had come to Australia in 1920-30; arriving on the farm, no lights, water in the creek; the pictures and dancing; Italian being spoken in the shops; not knowing how to cook steak and eggs; hopes for her children; describes the house; working in the fields and grading tobacco; selling the farm.
