Summary

The cartoon is undated, but is believed to refer to the the reluctance of the NRL (National Rugby League) to forego lucrative tobacco sponsorship of the League, the Winfield Cup, as the competition was formerly known. The Winfield sponsorship was ultimately outlawed by the Tobacco Advertising Prohibition Act of 1992.--Information provided by Geoff Pryor.
