- Summary:
-
John Argus was a legendary prospector in the goldfields north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. He loved music and was a fiddle player. He lived in a large house in Ora Banda. He spent a lot of time in a structure in his backyard, which he called The Opera House. The Opera House had most of the home comforts of an old style prospector - a wood burning stove, a rudimentary kitchen and a chair. John died a few months after this photo taken.
