"Families First seeks to provide that support to parents and carers raising children by providing a coordinated network of services focusing on prevention and early intervention support. The networks prioritise services and strategies that have demonstrated significant positive impacts on children and parents. The aim is to link families to appropriate sources of support at the time it is needed. The aim of this guide is to assist those managing implementation of Families First. This may include managers, planners and service providers. While this Guide draws on Families First and refers to Families First research and policy, the approach outlined is also being used to support the implementation of Better Futures and the Aboriginal Child, Youth and Family Strategy." -- p.2
