Half-title: A reply to the religious scruples against inoculating the small-pox.

In the signed preface, Cooper acknowledges his authorship. Erroneously attributed to Cotton Mather.

First published in 1721 as: A letter to a friend in the country, attempting a solution of the scruples and objections of conscientious or religious nature, commonly made against the new way of receiving the small-pox.
