- Notes:
-
- Attributed to Levi Hackley by Evans.
- May also be attributed to Samuel Williams, who wrote the Vermont almanac and register for the years 1796 to 1800 (Rutland, Vt.). The similarities between the eclipse notes and calendar pages of that series and those of this almanac suggest Williams' authorship, as does the fact that Williams, an astronomer and mathematician formerly of the Harvard faculty, had a few years previously settled in Rutland, for which vicinity the almanac is calculated. Levi Hackley was conducting a school at Bennington, Vt., at this time. Cf. Proceedings of the Vermont Historical Society n.s. v. 4 (1936): 139 and 142.
