Notes

Entered by Evans under the publishers, Thomas and John Fleet, who are described as "the editors" on p. 144.

The almanac was calculated by Nathanael Low. The eclipse notes duplicate those in his An astronomical diary or almanack for 1789, also published by Fleet, and the calculations on the calendar pages are likewise identical throughout except for a few scattered slight variations.

Presumably issued in its final state early in 1789. Page 141 is headed "Additions, alterations, &c. to Dec. 31, 1788." In an earlier state, p. 141 is headed simply "Additions, alterations, &c.", and contains fewer entries than the later list. Advertised in the Boston gazette Oct. 20, 1788 as "The Massachusetts register, containing 144 pages," without mention of the almanac.

Microform version available in the Readex Early American Imprints series.
